Broken Hands and Vomit

I had a my last midterm Friday morning, so I celebrated by getting a really good meal at Vitamin Cottage.  Vegan enchiladas and kombucha.
After lunch I met up with Ryan at Denver Park.
He was killing it!
The Greer's showed up too.
We checked out this spot.  There's a couple options here.  It's always fun to at least try to skate new things.  It gets pretty hard when you skate the same city all the time, but there is definitely stuff around if you're willing to look and try.
Classic spot, although this day is for sure my most memorable moment here.  Justin was trying a trick on the hip, and after trying it for a bit he had a meltdown, throwing his board and screaming.  We've all been there, but this time was particularly interesting because he chose to punch a concrete pillar at the spot.  He broke his hand, and was immediately in pain, and definitely couldn't skate anymore...
He begins walking away from the hip, and starts throwing up everywhere!  Here's proof!
He laid down after a while, lit up a cigarette and some of the devil's lettuce, and was feeling a bit better.  Lesson learned the hard way J-Greer.  But definitely a new classic story.
After that I went to The Shop.  Tony and Whitney hard at editing.
While they were doing stuff, I looked at the new Thrasher.  Such a good one!
David has a new ad.
Grant Taylor kills it!  Skating the middle of a rail!? Wow.
This photo is insane.  I didn't really get it until I read the caption.  He gaps out past that curb.  He must have been going so fast to clear that distance.  So good!
Tony updated his iPhone and was freaking out that he lost his Angry Birds app.  Old people should not use technology.
Then I caught dinner with Whitney, Paul, and Alex.  The dinner conversation was hilarious.
Also, rumor is The Denver Shop has a semi-locked down premier date of December 29th at The Mayan.  3 years in the making, I'm very excited about this.

Whiteney

Ty and I skated Greenwood Village park, the home turf of Derek Milton and Greg Knight.  After about 15 minutes I was over it.
Then we went to the inferior version of Chipotle to meet up with Cory.  They did have this crazy Coke machine though.
Raspberry, Vanilla, Lime, Orange, and/or Cherry flavored Coke. Amazing.
The future is here.
Ty's face of confusion as he realizes that we aren't at Chipotle.
After that we cruised to The Shop to see Tony.
Ty decided to do some hood rat stuff.
Changed Whitney's name.  Very clever Ty.
Paul Gardner was at The Shop too. Always a pleasure.
This spot.
Buncha dorks.
Kehoe nailed it.

Lil Wayne Day

I'm taking a class on Homer this fall, and every time I open The Iliad I think of this quote from Virginia Woolf on my potential comprehension of translated Greek literature:

"For it is vain and foolish to talk of knowing Greek, since in our ignorance we should be at the bottom of any class of schoolboys, since we do not know how the words sounded, or where precisely we ought to laugh, or how the actors acted, and between this foreign people and ourselves there is not only difference of race and tongue but a tremendous breach of tradition. All the more strange, then, is it that we should wish to know Greek, try to know Greek, feel for ever drawn back to Greek, and be for ever making up some notion of the meaning of Greek, though from what incongruous odds and ends, with what slight resemblance to the real meaning of Greek, who shall say?"- The Common Reader

If you got through that quote, good for you.  If not, just take from it that my studying Greek translated into English is already highly questionable, so I wonder why I do it.
While I was studying I ran into Patrick.  Great guy.
Then I went to Twist and Shout to begin Lil Wayne Day buy purchasing Tha Carter IV.  Well worth it.
When I went to put Tha Carter IV in my CD player, I thought it was very ironic that this popped out. I'm not choosing teams.
I met up with Ty and Kehoe for a day of shooting some photos.
Great Mexican vibe for lunch.
Great big Coke.
Classic Denver spot.  But nobody was really feeling it.  Ty tried to teach me impossibles to no avail.
More banks.
Kehoe and Ty getting some gems.
After skating I stopped by The Shop on my way to the Lil Wayne concert.  Tony and Whitney were working on editing the video.  I'm very excited about this, things are looking good.
I went to the concert by myself.  My friends either: weren't interested, or couldn't afford it, or both.  But that's not going to hold me back!
Had to make this purchase.
But, I ended up running into my friend Roscoe at the merchandise booth, so I hung out with him and his friends for the whole show.
Keri Hilson opened up.  Don't know anything about her.
Lovell taunted me with his Lil Wayne experience.  He knew that I wasn't going to get as close as he did.
Rick "The Bawse" Ross.
WEEZY!
He skated on stage all night.
If you look to the far right you can see him throwing down.
Standing on the board while rapping.
Doing a rock fakie (far left) while rapping.
He killed it. Best rapper alive!

Children!

Got some coffee and such with Justin Shardy this past Sunday.
Didn't know we would run into this awesome fellow. Surprise surprise!
Denver Park!
Denver Shop!
After hanging out at The Shop we went back to the park to meet up with Joey.  Running into these hooligans was a bonus
Then we headed to a new interesting place.
Weird rocks galore.
Large crew ensures more fun.
Shardy went for it...
But these kids were going even harder! Way more dangerous than skateboarding.
The kids Dad came to see if we were doing any damage to the property.  I think his time would be better spent making sure his kids don't damage themselves.
Meta gang!  These dudes are real cool.
Fin.
