St. Louis - Concluded

We got breakfast in Soulard, a neighborhood of St. Louis that is home to the second biggest Mardi Gras celebrations in the United States.
Veggie Benedict.
I hung out in the business center of Megan and Luke's apartment, working on homework.
Came outside and it was dark and rainy.
We got some St. Louis style pizza (hardly any crust/super thin).  It was delicious.
Family picture.
Hit the road.  Stopped at a Quiktrip on the way home.  Best gas station ever.

St. Louis - Day 3

We walked to English Living for breakfast.
Pretty good tea and crumpets.
Then we found Kingshighway skatepark.  This is the only park in St. Louis.  These dudes are doing it right.
Grinding my first brick coping here.
Words to live by.  If only Denver Park was this 'bout it.
Then we went to J. Edgar at the local theater.
Leo, always crushing it.
After the movie, my sister freaked out because she was hungry, and my mom freaked out because her water bottle was empty.  We had plans with the Finney's at The Bridge (pictured), but I couldn't really tolerate my own family at this point...
So I walked a couple blocks to a grocery store.  This store had a live lounge singer, which was super random.  I ordered a panini and enjoy some tunes.
Back to The Bridge.
My dad and his dessert.

St. Louis - Day 2- Thanksgiving

I saw the St. Louis arch on the way to Luke's sister's house for Thanksgiving.
16 people.  Definitely the biggest Thanksgiving I'd ever been to.
Monkey bread?  Never heard of it, but super delicious.
Ski?  Never heard of it, apparently it's an Illinois only beverage.  To clarify, Luke's sister lives in Illinois, not Missouri.
Gizmo!
Nela! Super cute.
My first plate and name tag.
After a lot of eating and napping, we played some board games.  Pretty good Thanksgiving, thanks for the hospitality Finney's!

St. Louis - Day 1

My nuclear family went to visit my sister for Thanksgiving.  We got there Wednesday evening, and left Saturday night.  This is what my mom packs for such a short trip.  Yikes.
Yeah, I got all my shit in there.
Luke brought us inside.
Then we went to lunch.  Megan was still in school and was not missed.
We met up with Megan at SLU, the law school she's going to.  Seems like a typical college campus.
I intended to work on my Woolf thesis while in St. Louis, but I forgot my primary texts.  Luckily, my sister was able to check them out of the library.  Pretty cool cover of The Voyage Out as well.
Only SLU students can even go into the library.  The irony of me needed A Room of One's One, an essay that discusses being locked out of a library, was not lost on me.  Here is an excerpt:

"...but here I was actually at the door which leads into the library itself. I must have opened it, for instantly there issued, like a guardian angel barring the way with a flutter of black gown instead of white wings, a deprecating, silvery, kindly gentleman, who regretted in a low voice as he waved me back that ladies are only admitted to the library if accompanied by a Fellow of the College or furnished with a letter of introduction.
That a famous library has been cursed by a woman is a matter of complete indifference to a famous library. Venerable and calm, with all its treasures safe locked within its breast, it sleeps complacently and will, so far as I am concerned, so sleep for ever. Never will I wake those echoes, never will I ask for that hospitality again, I vowed as I descended the steps in anger".

Locked out.
We explored the SLU Law School.  Here's Megan's faculty.
The Prince of SLU Law.
We went back to the apartment and took naps.  Gizmo is so cute.
Then Luke made an excellent dinner.

Weird Texts

I was supposed to meet Ryan at Northglenn park at 9:30.  I woke up to this text.
Here you go kid.  Don't wear a hoodie without a shirt underneath it weirdo.
Luke and Ryan got some clips.
These bros showed up too.
Went to The Shop and saw the DVD cover.  Looks pretty good N.S.B.
Mason bought me ice cream, a double scoop! He must really like me.  Thanks again buddy.
Then I skated Broomfield Park with Leonard, David, and Abdias.  Good session.
I came back from skating to this text.  It's true too, but you technically have to type "Denver juggalos".  The plural is essential.
I'm off to St. Louis in an hour.  Updates to come.

Windy

Met up with these turds at Denver Park.
We tried to skate some stuff in Capital Hill, but weren't really feeling any of the spots up there.  And it was super windy, which I tried to capture in this photo.
This spot.  Whitney rejoices.
Joey did a J Greer impression.
Messed around on this baby rail in an enclosed area (no wind).
Shardy nailed this caveman.  Overall, wasn't a very exciting day for skating.
Then I went to the Denver Film Festival.  Paul got me free tickets, popcorn, and soda.  Thanks Paul, you da best!
