Max Leaves Boulder

Max and I left school and met up with Ryan at Denver Park.
These dorks ditched high school to come "hard-style" in front of their new cars at Denver Park.  Oh, to be young again...
They also came up on a Vitamin Water sponsor.
We left Denver Park for Chipotle.
Tried to do some street skating... but there's still snow everywhere.
We checked out this spot on the way to another park.
Onto another park.
Then, ice cream!  I love Sweet Action Ice Cream.

Food, Skating, Party

On Saturday I went to the People's Food Justice Summit held at Kepner Middle School in the Westwood neighborhood of Denver.  I went to learn about what organizations and communities are doing about food inequalities in Denver, because I am doing one of my independent studies on food deserts in our city.  The summit was really informative, I got a lot out of it.
At all the food events I've been to, there is always amazing food.  These people really practice what they preach and make what they love, delicious and healthy food.  I had a breakfast burrito, strawberries, apples, yogurt with granola and blueberries, and orange juice.
This is a picture of the breakout session held by Denver Urban Gardens.  They have nearly 120 gardens in the Denver-Metro area, promote farmers markets, and teach children how to grow and eat well.  Some of the people in my group attend Fairview Elementary, where they have a farmers market selling food they grow at the school.  So cool!
After I handled my academic work for the day, I had to go to Denver Park.  Still the best place ever.
Met up with these two at this abandoned mini-golf course.
I filmed Shardy nail it.
Then onto this spot.  I really hate how short the days are getting, it makes it so hard to skate more than two spots in a day.  I'm going to start skating at 8 or 9 a.m. just to make the days count.
Dinner.
I came home after skating and arrived to find a surprise. Ryan Lovell sent me a package all the way from Kansas City!
I got an Escapist shirt, some budget whiskey that was half drank, a dollar bill, a tech-deck, and other random stuff.  I'm really excited to go out and film in this shirt.
Then I went to a Halloween party.  No, I didn't dress up.  Mason did though.  Eazy-E.
Keith was Wayne.  He is also holding the cutest puppy ever.  Thanks for hosting again Keith.
 Tyler was a cat-burglar.
Omar was the karate-kid.
Mike as Bob Dylan.
Ryan and Steph as dead people (?)
Natalie as a tootsie-roll, Joey as himself wearing a sombrero.

Broken Hands and Vomit

I had a my last midterm Friday morning, so I celebrated by getting a really good meal at Vitamin Cottage.  Vegan enchiladas and kombucha.
After lunch I met up with Ryan at Denver Park.
He was killing it!
The Greer's showed up too.
We checked out this spot.  There's a couple options here.  It's always fun to at least try to skate new things.  It gets pretty hard when you skate the same city all the time, but there is definitely stuff around if you're willing to look and try.
Classic spot, although this day is for sure my most memorable moment here.  Justin was trying a trick on the hip, and after trying it for a bit he had a meltdown, throwing his board and screaming.  We've all been there, but this time was particularly interesting because he chose to punch a concrete pillar at the spot.  He broke his hand, and was immediately in pain, and definitely couldn't skate anymore...
He begins walking away from the hip, and starts throwing up everywhere!  Here's proof!
He laid down after a while, lit up a cigarette and some of the devil's lettuce, and was feeling a bit better.  Lesson learned the hard way J-Greer.  But definitely a new classic story.
After that I went to The Shop.  Tony and Whitney hard at editing.
While they were doing stuff, I looked at the new Thrasher.  Such a good one!
David has a new ad.
Grant Taylor kills it!  Skating the middle of a rail!? Wow.
This photo is insane.  I didn't really get it until I read the caption.  He gaps out past that curb.  He must have been going so fast to clear that distance.  So good!
Tony updated his iPhone and was freaking out that he lost his Angry Birds app.  Old people should not use technology.
Then I caught dinner with Whitney, Paul, and Alex.  The dinner conversation was hilarious.
Also, rumor is The Denver Shop has a semi-locked down premier date of December 29th at The Mayan.  3 years in the making, I'm very excited about this.

Boards, Wood, Bridges

I met up with Mason to pick up another board.  It was very nice of him to contribute this board, but even funnier that it's Kahlil's board that has been sitting around since Mason and I lived together.  At least it will get used now.
Then Kenyatta gave me a complete and a bunch of product. Thanks buddy!
After that I went to Vitamin Cottage and got a delicious vegan pasta and a Hansen's soda.
Denver Park!
When I got out of my car, I dropped my water bottle that I've been using for months.  It exploded all over my feet and broke. Bummer wave.
Onto The Shop.
We loaded up Cory's car with wood for DU ditch.  Scott sat on top of the wood during the ride over.
J Greer's board went into the water before the bridge was even built.
Wood!
Like a bridge over troubled water...
After skating, I met up with Tyler Haberkorn and Keith to get more skate stuff.  Tyler complained they aren't any photos of me on the blog, so he took one.
Then I got dinner with the illusive Jason Clark.  Quite a treat.
